Our latest stop on our world tour of FM26 wonderkids from different nations is Sweden, who have produced a steady number of promising players in recent decades. So, without further ado, here are some of the best Swedish wonderkids on FM26:

Lucas Bergvall (Tottenham)

The versatile young Tottenham midfielder is widely regarded as the most promising Swedish player. In fact, arguably, many consider Bergvall as one of the players with the biggest potential of his generation.

His starting attributes illustrated just how highly the 19-year-old is within the game. For instance, he has attributes of 16+ for composure, first touch, determination, acceleration, corner kicks and free-kicks. He also has a rating of 15 for technique, dribbling, passing, work-rate and strength.

Bergvall’s strong starting stats explain why signing him in the opening transfer window would cost upwards of £60m, including add-ons, plus a sell-on fee.

The midfielder tends to go on to fulfil his potential, becoming one of the best and most consistent midfielders in the game. That may make the starting fee slightly more realistic.

Williot Swedberg (Celta Vigo)

The 21-year-old is arguably further along the line of first-team football than Bergvall. He joined Celta in 2022 and has featured more and more in their senior side in recent seasons.

Swedberg’s starting stats are decent, but not many would say they are extraordinary, with his highest rating being 16 for off the ball, while his ratings for concentration and composure are 15. His other ratings do improve over time, though.

The versatile attacking midfielder, who can also play as a main striker, becomes a highly consistent player who usually has a goal contribution of 10 goals per season for a decade, which is not a terrible return.

Celta are not keen on parting with Swedberg in the first transfer window, which is why they demand an initial fee of around £70m plus add-ons. That fee is far too much. Wait until a few seasons in, and his fee may drop, as his contract runs down slightly in Galicia.

Roony Bardghji (Barcelona)

We couldn’t write a list of Swedish wonderkids without including perennial FM wonderkid Roony Bardghji, who was one of the best wonderkids in FM24 when he was still at former club FC Kobenhavn.

Unfortunately, the talented winger’s real-life progress was hampered by nearly a season on the sidelines through injury. However, his talent was recognised in July 2025, when Catalan giants Barcelona snapped him up for a reported fee of around €2 million, including performance-related add-ons, which could be an absolute bargain. Despite stiff competition for places in Catalonia, the winger has made 25 appearances for Barcelona this season in all competitions.

In FM26, his starting stats are strong with ratings of 15+ for first touch, dribbling, technique, fitness and agility. However, his highest attribute is 17 for determination.

Due to his relatively high stats, the Kuwait-born youngster can cost around £35m, plus a sell-on fee to sign. You can also sign him on loan, but Barcelona asks for a high loan fee.

There is a caveat with signing Bardghji, though, as he doesn’t always fulfil his potential in FM26. In fact, he has a lower potential in the game than FM24, maybe due to his long time on the sidelines in real life, so that needs to be considered before heavily investing in the 20-year-old.

Yasin Ayari (Brighton)

The defensive midfielder has impressed at Brighton in the last few seasons after loan spells in the Championship with Coventry City and Blackburn Rovers. His performances have led to the 22-year-old being linked with several high-profile clubs.

The midfielder’s strong 2025/26 season led to an increase in his current and potential abilities. Ayari’s FM26 starting stats illustrate how highly rated the midfielder is in real life.

Ayari has a rating of +16 for determination, teamwork and work rate, and mid-teens for technique, tackling and passing, all of which are regarded as essential attributes for a defensive midfielder.

Strangely, Ayari can be snapped up on loan in the first transfer window. Signing the midfielder on a permanent basis would cost around £40m, plus add-ons and the now almost mandatory 40 per cent of the profit from the next sale.

Hugo Larsson (Eintracht Frankfurt)

Like his piers on his list, Larsson has strong starting stats, which is understandable considering he has been a regular starter in the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt in recent seasons, impressing in the centre of the park.

His highest stats are 16+ for determination, teamwork, work rate and stamina, while his rating is 14 for passing, technique and first touch. The 21-year-old’s attributes are promising for a defensive midfielder.

Due to his decent starting stats and potential, Eintracht Frankfurt puts a price of around £50m, plus add-ons and a 40 per cent of the profit made on his next transfer.

From my experiences with Larsson, he generally fulfils his potential and becomes one of the best defensive midfielders in the game. In my latest save, which is ten years in the future, Larsson is a key player in the Barcelona midfield.
