The cancellation of FM25 by SI has been highly disappointing, to say the least. Although many, including myself, like FM24, like any game, it becomes stale if you have played it for more than its intended timeframe, i.e. more than a season.

There are ways of keeping FM24 fresh and interesting to play, though. Courtesy of the wonderful FM24 community, numerous mods are out there to help FM24 feel slightly more like FM25. Here are some of our favourite mods for FM24 to bring it more up to date:

Football Manager 2025-2026 League Update Database

fm25 development updateThe wonderful people at Passion4FM created this mod, and as the title suggests, it updates the major European leagues to season 2025/26. So, for instance, if you want to attempt to help Sunderland survive in the Premier League or keep Hamburg in the Bundesliga after their promotion, you can.

The pack contains updated leagues for England, Spain, France, Germany, Italy and Portugal. Undoubtedly, this would be a handy resource for those players who are bored with playing the same leagues.

You can find plenty more mods that will increase your enjoyment of the game on Passion4FM’s website.

The FM Update – May 2025

This mod is available via the Steam workshop, which I have found to be an invaluable resource over the years for mods, skins and even tactics at times. It can also be downloaded at FMInside.

The FM update-May 2025, gives you an updated database to use on FM24. The update is made by fans of the game and includes many major transfers up to May 7th. It also includes new wonderkids added to the game.

Some current and potential abilities have also been updated for the 2024/25 season, enhancing the realism of the game. As it is fan-produced, it has its limitations, as stated in the bio of the mod on the Steam workshop.

This is not the fault of those who produced the game, but rather the limitations of the editor, as the work done by the fans is done by the game’s editor, which can be challenging to work with at times because some things cannot be changed.

For instance, you still have to play through Euro 2024, and the European competitions are still set to the old format. However, despite the limitations of the editor, those fans who have worked on this mod deserve immense credit.

Please note, there is also an update of this mod every month, with new edits made and transfers updated. This is crucial as it gives you a fresh database every month and keeps your game up to date when it comes to transfers.

As it’s updated regularly, if you do download this version, please remove the older versions, as if duplicates are loaded, then your game may crash.

FM2024 Near Season End Update 24-25

This is a similar update to the FMUpdate and is also available via Steam. This mod is updated to 13th May. This includes some current and potential ability changes. However, the biggest changes are that the player and manager database have been updated to reflect recent moves.

The recent moves include Xabi Alonso becoming the Real Madrid boss, with former Los Blancos head coach Carlo Ancelotti taking the reins of the Brazilian national team. The big transfers, such as Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid from Liverpool, are also included in the update.

Interestingly, this update also includes updated leagues and some new wonderkids, just like some of the other mods on our list. You can’t use this mod with some of the other mods on our list, as it could cause your game to crash or corrupt.

Alternatively, if you have two similar mods in the game, you may end up with two of the same wonderkid, which recently happened to me, as I had two different mods loaded in my game and ended up with two Ethan Mbappe’s and two Francesco Camarda’s.

Although we haven’t tried this update yet, it has good reviews. It will be interesting if the makers continually update it. From what we have heard, if they do update it regularly, then it could be a good option to use while we are waiting for FM26.

New Stadiums & Renovations 2025 part one and part two

concept image floodlights in a stadiumThis mod (also available via the Steam workshop) updates stadiums already in the game, and adds new stadiums which are already in the works, such as Manchester United and Aston Villa’s planned new stadiums.

It includes adding 11 new stadiums to the game and also the planned renovation of a further 3 stadiums. As well as the aforementioned new planned stadiums, it also includes planned new builds for clubs such as Newcastle, Roma and the two Milan clubs, Inter and Milan.

This is an impressive effort. There is also a part two available, which includes more of the same as the first version, which includes stadium updates for PSG, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
