Although FM25 is still a long way away, we are going to look at talented young players from different nations who could well be stars on the latest edition of Football Manager.
In the first article in the series, we will look at players from England.
Jamie Gittens (Dortmund)
The 20-year-old winger has broken into the Dortmund first team since joining BVB from Manchester City in 2022. With every first-team appearance, the England under-21 international star is gaining in confidence and showing his quality.
His displays for the German team have been impressive and led to rumours linking him with the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea in the English media, the latter a club he played for in youth football.
Gittens had some decent stats in FM24. However, considering his recent performances, his stats should be far better in the new edition of the game.
Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace)
The central midfielder arrived at Crystal Palace from Blackburn Rovers in the winter transfer window of 2024. From signing in that window, Wharton produced some strong performances.
In fact, his performances were so strong that Wharton earned an international call-up to the England team just before Euro2024. He made his debut and earned a place in the Three Lions final squad for the tournament, although he didn’t appear at Euro2024.

Wharton’s performances have arguably not been as good at the start of season 2024/25. However, he still proved in those early months of his Eagles career that he deserves a rise in his stats in FM25.
Archie Gray (Tottenham)
The young central midfielder has been regarded as a hot prospect for a while despite the fact that he is just 18 years of age. He started his career at Yorkshire outfit Leeds United but made a move to North London giants Tottenham Hotspur for a reported fee of £40m in the summer of July 2024.
Although Gray has not played every game in the Premier League for Spurs, he has been involved in the north London club’s first-team squad.
@spursofficial Asking all the important questions with our new signing 🤣
He has already started building on his foundations from his Leeds days at Tottenham. The young midfielder has the potential to be a star of the future at both club and international level.
His stats reflected his potential in FM24. However, by the time FM25 comes out, he may have earned an even bigger reputation.
Jack Hinshelwood (Brighton Hove Albion)
The 19-year-old is another young midfielder with the potential to become a top player in the future. After coming through the club’s academy, Hinshelwood first broke into the Brighton first team in season 2023/24.
He hasn’t looked back since, as he has started regularly for the Seagulls in the Premier League in season 2024/25. There seems to be plenty more to come from the Chichester-born star.
His emergence into the Seagulls’ first-team squad over the last few years should be enough to see his stats rise for FM25.
Tyler Dibling (Southampton)
For many, Dibling is one of the most promising young midfielders in the country. Dibling not only played for Southampton’s academy but also spent time in Chelsea’s youth set-up.
Although he featured just once in the Championship in season 2023/24, however, Dibling has regularly appeared for the Saints’ first team in the current campaign. On September 21st 2024, the 18-year-old scored his first professional goal in a 1-1 draw against fellow Premier League new boys Ipswich Town.

His pose and desire to take people on with the ball have seen him compared to Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier and Chelsea’s Cole Palmer. Although those comparisons may be slightly premature, the youngster does seem to be a special talent who will only get better by playing more games at first-team level.
If he continues to impress for the South Coast outfit, his starting stats and potential on FM25 are likely to be high.
Ethan Nwaneri (Arsenal)
The attacking midfielder is starting to work his way into the Arsenal first-team squad on a more regular basis this season after making his debut at just 15 years of age in season 2022/23.
Now 17, the England U-19 international scored his first Premier League goal on November 23rd in a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest. He was an exceptional talent in the Gunners’ youth ranks, and he played under-18 football at just 14.

Although Arsenal has a squad full of quality players, Nwaneri is getting first-team minutes despite his tenders years. It’s not hard to see the youngster becoming a star in the future.
If he continues on his current trajectory, then the teenager could well see both his stats and his potential raise in FM25.
Tino Livramento (Newcastle United)
The former Chelsea full-back has been regarded as a player with big potential since his days with the south west London club. His progress has been slightly hampered by injury.
However, the 22-year-old went on to make 26 top-flight appearances for Newcastle United in season 2023/24. He has also started the 2024/25 campaign as a regular for the Magpies. His performances for Newcastle saw him make his international debut for England on 17th November 2024 in a 5-0 win over the Republic of Ireland.
Livramento has all the attributes of a modern full-back, as he is not just strong defensively but also good going forward. The fact he can play in both full-back positions only adds to the youngster’s appeal.
He has been relatively highly rated in recent editions of FM. It will be interesting to see his rating on FM25, having been a first-team regular for the north east team.
Who are the young English players you are most looking forward to managing on FM25?
