Eugeniu Merciu, FC Saxan’s chairman, offered me the managerial job on the understanding that I would approach the task of club management as if it were an engineering project.
Specifically, I’ve undertaken to:
- Design and implement a series of protocols to govern the way we perform operations (such as acquiring players), ensuring quality control
- Develop a playbook to regulate the way we respond to opponents
- Overall, employ a systems engineering perspective.
I’ve already introduced and illustrated the theme of protocols in previous posts and the playbook will wait until the season commences.
It is to the systems engineering approach that I now need to turn my attention.
