The first half of the match was a largely boring affair, with little of note happening. Swansea dominated the first-half with plenty of possession but struggled to convert the possession into any meaningful chances meaning the teams went into the break goalless.
Half-time stats:
The second half looked to be much the same until Mesa saw red just five minutes into the half for a second yellow card. West Brom came more and more into the game as they began to take advantage over a weakened Swansea team. They were rewarded in the 60th minute when the referee pointed to the spot for a foul on Rondon from Van der Hoorn.
Krychowiak stepped up and made no mistake from the spot, sealing a West Brom win in an otherwise rather uneventful match.
